
Grandma Mitzi’s Anise Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3-1/2 cups flour
- 5 eggs, beaten
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 teaspoons anise flavoring
Instructions
- Cream together powdered sugar and butter. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in as with pie crust.
- Add beaten eggs and anise flavoring and mix well.
- Roll into balls in your hand like a small snake. If dough is sticky, add a little flour. Make into pinwheels or braid them or make any shapes you want, like a rope or knot.
- Bake 350 degrees for 15 minutes (til lightly browned).
- Cool and frost with Confectioner's Sugar Frosting.
